I always admired Donna Douglas. (Okay, I wanted to BE her back when I was young, lol.) Sounds like a great collection of recipes. I also appreciate your “clickable” titles leading to the book synopsis. Susan Puckett’s adaptation of Faulkner’s quote pretty much sums up my eating experience in the South. :)

I admit: I thought the publication of a cookbook by “Elly May” and one about the Mississippi Delta being published in the same week was fitting. Have you been to the Delta? It’s a place unto itself — in many ways, perhaps especially food.
