Absolutely Avocados: 80 Amazing Avocado Recipes for Every Meal of the Day
If you love avocados but don’t know what to do with them other than serve them with tortilla chips, this is the perfect cookbook for you. With its buttery texture and subtle flavor, the avocado pairs well with meat and seafood, makes a great topping for burgers and salads, and adds a wonderful creaminess to dips, sauces, and even desserts. Absolutely Avocados presents delightfully delicious new ways to use avocados in breakfasts, lunches, salads, and snacks–plus plenty of ways you haven’t even imagined.
But this is more than just a book of avocado recipes; it’s also the first cookbook from renowned blogger Gaby Dalkin. Displaying her fresh and simple cooking style—a mix of California casual with a healthy dose of Southwestern flair—Gaby’s recipes are ideal for anyone who loves avocados or just scrumptious meals.
Cooks&Books&Recipes Featured Cook Alice, on Absolutely Avocados:
Hello, Cooks&Books&Recipes readers! If you follow popular food blogs, you’ve probably heard of Gaby Dalkin and her lovely blog, What’s Gaby Cooking. And if you read Gaby’s blog, you know about her cookbook, Absolutely Avocados. I’m really loving the recent wave of cookbooks that focus on one theme (like Desserts in Jars by Shaina Olmanson or Tessa Arias’s new cookbook, Cookies & Cream, with hundreds of ways to make the perfect ice cream sandwich!) or that use just one ingredient, like this new cookbook, Absolutely Avocados.
I am definitely in the “I love avocados” camp, so I had to get my hands on this cookbook. Flipping through, you know you’re going to get lots of wonderful, delicious avocado recipes, but what I love is that Gaby also gives us facts about avocados and information on other types of avocado varieties. This cookbook is seriously filled with great recipes and a few unexpected gems. You already know you’re going to get guacamole-type recipes but you also get dips and sauces, salad recipes, meat recipes, fish, vegetarian, and dessert recipes. This cookbook is definitely a must-buy for any avocado lover.
