Cookbook: The Truck Food Cookbook: 150 Recipes and Ramblings from America’s Best Restaurants on Wheels, by John T. Edge
Food trucks are everywhere these days. Or so I hear. If, like me, you live way out of the city, in the ‘burbs, you haven’t seen too many food trucks in your neighborhood either. So this cookbook is for us. We can cook our own food-truck-food. I’ll admit that some of this type of food is beyond my cooking comfort zone and abilities (which is why I need to find some food trucks!), but I am definitely going to make this mayo sauce from Pedro Vargas’s truck Paladar Cubano, in Seattle. I want it with my next order of fries. Or sweet potato fries or yucca fries (for which it was created) or chickpea fries — if I ever find a food truck parked nearby. In the meantime, the recipes for all those fries also are in this cookbook. Guess it’s time to start trucking.
